The Centre of Biomedical Magnetic Resonance (CBMR) is in search of an eminent scientist for the position of its Director to head the Centre. The CBMR is an autonomous research Centre established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to carry out interdisciplinary research in the area of biomedicine with emphasis on the use and applications of NMR and MRI. The Centre is very well equipped with the following major facilities:


The Centre currently has 800 (with cryo probe), 600 (Wide-bore) and 400 (with micro-imaging) MHz NMR spectrometers, and a 3T MRI system along with the required support laboratories specially to carry out fMRI studies and synthetic chemistry for drug discovery and other problems of clinical importance. Keeping these aspects in mind the Governing Council of the Centre has proposed to change its name to “Centre of Bio-Medical Research” such that the scope is broadened while retaining the same abbreviation “CBMR” since the Centre has established itself as “CBMR”
The candidate for the position of Director must be an accomplished scientist with a vision to take the Centre ahead in the interdisciplinary research related to biomedicine. The precise job requirement as approved by the Government is: ”an accomplished Scientist with a Ph. D degree in chemistry / physics / biophysics / biochemistry from a recognized university and research / teaching experience of minimum of 25 years in a nationally or internationally reputed institution in the field of developments / applications of NMR / MRI. The qualifications and experience can be relaxed for exceptionally meritorious candidates, with the approval of the President of the Centre.

At present, the retirement age for the post of the Director is 65 years. The appointment shall be made initially for a period of 5 years or till the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier. The present salary scale is Rs 80,000.00 per month (Fixed) plus other allowances as permissible by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
