Punjab Food Supply Inspector Exam Syllabus, Pattern & Selection Procedure
SYLLABUS AND PATTERN OF EXAM
Computer Proficient
Test, CPT 25 Questions
The basic purpose is
to check the applicants’ basic computing concept and his/her ability to perform
fundamental operating system functions.
Language Proficiency 13
+ 12 = 25 Questions
The candidate needs to
the proficient in both Hindi and English. It may involve general grammar
applications, vocabulary test, workmanship skills with words and sentences. It
may also include precise writing or article or essay writing.
Mental Ability &
Reasoning 50 Questions
The sole purpose of
this section of examination is to check the levels of analytical thinking for
the candidate. It checks each applicants’, so called human intelligence. It may
include Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. Creative thinking, unfamiliar
relationships, verbal reasoning, finding patterns trends and Assessment of
figures & diagrams.
General Knowledge
=> 25 Questions
Knowledge of current
affairs and other issues related to trade, industry, economy, sports, culture
and science.
Mathematical Skills 25
Questions
Numerical calculation,
arithmetic, simple algebra, geometry and trigonometry, Interpretation of
graphs, charts and tables.
Selection Procedure:
Selection will be
based on written examination only. There will be no interview. The merit will
be prepared on the basis of result of written examination. The question paper
will be provided both in English and Punjabi. It will have 150 questions each
carrying one mark as per the details given below:

Some Points to be kept
in mind:
· Any wrong answer would invite negative
marking. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
· The total duration of the exam would be 2 ½
hours or 150 minutes.
· The applicant must score atleast 35% of the
marks for clearing the written examination.
· The merit list prepared on the basis of this
written test will remain valid for six months from the day the result is
declared.
Moreover, there would
be no travelling allowance provided to the applicants, Furthermore, only the
Successful candidates in the written examination shall produce their original
Certificates/testimonials in person as and when required by the Commissioner,
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab.
