Description
Overall Role purpose:
Performs as an expert resource in all phases of voice/data network
development to include carrier order provisioning, network address
management, systems support, and configuration management. Conducts
network assessments to validate enterprise baseline and provide context
for future network direction. Serves as subject matter expert to key
customer executives in strategic planning and investment decision
activities. Leverages applicable best practices for voice/data network
design and enterprise business solutions. Monitors and maintains network
communications stability, ensuring adherence to requirements and
escalating recommendations . Detects system, network, and application
anomalies. Resolves and/or escalates matters of significance to reduce
the impact to global customers and maximize system availability.
Qualifications
Key Accountibilities and Responsibilities: Technology:Performs
analysis of voice/data network needs and contributes to design of
architecture, integration, and installation to ensure effective customer
network architectures. Performs installations, updates, and maintenance
of new and existing telecommunication systems and networks, ensuring
appropriate interfaces. People:Marshals the resources of
cross-functional technical teams to design and implement effective
voice/data network architectures for the customer. Develops technical
standards and interface applications. Identifies and evaluates new
products and provides network problem resolutions to create and maintain
optimal network solutions. Oversees network integration and
installation projects. Customer:Implements customer networking
requirements in support of service order fulfillment requirements.
Troubleshoots communication system applications and software; identifies
and corrects malfunctions and/or other operational problems. Monitors
network interfaces and traffic statuses to provide early detection and
isolation of issues. Performs checks to ensure proper operation and
security. Analyzes, prepares, and provides updates to internal and
external customers during service failures in accordance with
established service agreements. Business:Leads all aspects of
development coordination, verification, validation, and deployment of
voice/data network architecture solutions. Manages carrier inventory.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of
network communications equipment. Evaluates, tests, and documents
current network technology baseline for both hardware and software to
determine networking needs. Financial:Reports and monitors system
utilization and associated costs. Guides both short term and long term
investment decisions as they relate to voice/data network solutions.
Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirements.
