Urban Aspirations in Global Cities
TISS-Max Planck-PUKAR Project

"Urban Aspirations in Global Cities" is a collaborative project between TISS, Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religion and Diversity, Gottingen and PUKAR, Mumbai. The project aims to compare post-colonial megacities in Asia, including Mumbai, Singapore and Shanghai, to understand how the urban community of rapidly growing megacities impacts the development of religious and ethnic aspirations. It will focus on the changing trends in ethnic and religious diversity in these cities.

The project located at the TISS campus will set up a media lab that documents research on specific subjects with a special focus on Mumbai. The following announcements are for jobs in this project.

Applications are invited for research positions (contract basis) in the TISS-Max Planck-PUKAR Collaborative Project titled ‘Urban Aspirations in Global Cities’.

Name of the Post: Programme Officer (on contract)

Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Anthropology, Urban Sociology, Media & Cultural Studies or Development Studies with at least four years of project management experience. Knowledge of computer and media technology and content preparation for websites is a necessary requirement. 
Place of Posting: TISS, Mumbai and the selected person will be reporting to Programme Director, Urban Aspriations in Global Cities Project
Duration of Contract: One year extendable by another year or for the entire duration of the project (3 years)
Remuneration: 40,000 per month (all inclusive)

Name of the Post: Knowledge Manager (on contract)
Qualification:
A Master’s Degree in Humanities or Social Sciences with experience in copy-editing of manuscripts and an interest in rigorous desk work.
Place of Posting: TISS, Mumbai
Duration of Contract: One year
Remuneration: 30,000 per month (all inclusive)
