The S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites application from Indian Nationals for the contractual post of Technical Assistant(Library) with the following requirements:

Qualification : Masters degree in Library & Information Science ; Sound working knowledge of Linux operating system and LIBSYS

Experience : Minimum 2(two) years experience in a reputed Library (ies)

Age: Within 35 years

Consolidated Salary and period of contract : Approximately Rs. 22,275/- per month.  Period of contract will be initially for one year. The appointment can be renewed on basis of performance.

Work Area :

• Book/journal acquisition, processing of books; 
• Assist in smooth running of the automated library system; 
• Searching and maintenance of library database;
• Building of institutional repository;
• Shelving of book and maintenance of stock; 
• Maintenance/development of electronic documents and equipments; 
• Processing of documents received in the Library;
• Reference Service: Helping the users with locating documents & information needs.
