Purpose
The assistance can be availed for the following purposes:

(i) Training and participation in tournaments abroad
(ii) Training and participation in tournaments in the country
(iii) Purchasing Equipment (iv) Availing Scientific Support

Amount of Scholarship: Maximum Rs 5 Lakhs

Eligible Candidates  
Sportspersons with following achievements shall be eligible to apply:

(i) Those who have either equaled or excelled the existing National Record
(ii) Gold Medalists of last National Championship
(iii) Medalist of Asian Games/ Commonwealth Games/Olympic Games/World Championship in the relevant category, i.e. Senior/Junior/Sub–Junior in Sports disciplines covered under ‘Priority’ and ‘General’ category.
(iv) For team events assistance will be provided based on an objective assessment of the performance in the National Championships.

Age Limit

(i) Age of the applicant should not exceed 25 years

(ii) For sports like Shooting, Golf, Billiards and Snooker, Chess and Yachting the age limit may be relaxed up to 35 years

(iii) For sports persons winning medals in international events last held, upper age limit may be suitably relaxed.
