The Tamilnadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board was constituted to select suitable personnel in various categories.The Board is manned by a Superintendent of Police, a Deputy Superintendent of Police and a team of ministerial staff.

A total of 6,667 candidates including 780 women appeared for the entrance examination for the post of secondary grade police constables, fireman and jail wardens on Sunday.
