Recruitment of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants/ Postal Assistants Savings Bank Control Organization    in Punjab  Postal Circle 

Applications  in the prescribed format are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment for the posts of Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants for different offices in Punjab Postal Circle.

  1. Postal Assistants : 81 posts in various divisions
  2. Sorting Assistants : 10 posts in RMS Division
  3. Postal Assistants : 02 posts in Saving Bank Control Organisation
Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.2400
Age : 18-27 years with relaxation to reserved category candidates.

Qualification : Pass in 10+2 or 12th with English as a compulsory subject with 60% marks (55% for OBC and 45% for SC/ST) and should have studied the Hindi Language as a subject at the least upto Matriculation or equivalent.

Application Form : Application form is available for sale across the counters of all Head Post Offices of Punjab on payment of Rs.50/- (in cash).

Application Fee : Rs.200/- to be deposited in the post offices where candidate want to apply.  Women/ SC/ST/ PH candidates are exempted from the fee.


Processor For Application : Application has to be send  with application fee to "Direct Recruitment Cell, New Delhi HO, New Delhi - 110001" by Registered Post/ Speed Post only, so as to reach on or before 01/10/2012 (last date is 11/10/2012 for the candidates from far-flung areas).

SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR BACKLOG VACANCIES IN SC AND OBC QUOTA

EMPLOYMENT NOTICE NO. Rectt/Reserved Backlog Vacancies/CO/09

Applications in the prescribed format are called for from candidates for the posts of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants / PA (CO) in the Pay Band of Rs. 5200 – 20,200/- with the Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.

1. The age limit of the SC applicants will be 18 to 30 years & OBC candidates will be 18 to 28 years as on 11.01.2012 after relaxation as per GOI rules.

2. The minimum educational qualification is Higher Secondary or equivalent.

3. Prospectus containing eligibility conditions, recruitment procedure, prescribed application form and instructions thereof can be obtained from the selected Post Offices as per list (Annexure-II), on payment of Rs. 25/- by cash at the concerned post office counter.

4. Name of the recruiting units as well as designation and address of the Recruiting authority to whom the application are to be addressed is furnished hereunder in Annexure – I showing inter – alia the number of vacancies in respect of each recruiting unit.

5. Application duly completed along with attested copies of the certificates should be submitted to the officer concerned on or before 11.01.2012 by Registered Post or Speed Post. Applications sent by other means will not be considered. Applications received after the due date will be rejected straight way and no correspondence will be entertained.

6. The cover containing the application should be superscribed in block letters as follows: - “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF SC/OBC POSTAL ASSISTANT / SORTING ASSISTANT IN UNDER SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE”

7. Vacancies are provisional and subject to change at the time of final selection.

8. The aptitude test will be held on 05.02.2012

THE DETAILS IN THIS PROSPECTUS ARE APPLICABLE FOR RECRUITMENT FOR THE

b) Postal Assistants in Circle Office and Regional Offices. g) Postal Assistants in Mail Motor Services.
c) Postal Assistants in Savings Bank Control Organization h) Postal Assistants in Postal Stores Depots.
d) Sorting Assistants in Railway Mail Service.
e) Postal and sorting Assistants in Army Postal Service.
f) Postal Assistants in Foreign Post Offices.

Pay-Scale - The scale of pay is Rs. 5200 - 20200 + Grade pay Rs. 2400/- + admissible allowances.

Age : (a) Between 18 to 25 years as on last date prescribed for receipt of application as shown in the advertisement and in the list containing vacancy position supplied with this prospectus.

Educational and Other Qualifications Required :-
Postal / Sorting Assistants :
i) Pass in 10+2 or 12th Class Examination of recognized University or Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education (excluding vocational streams).
ii) Candidates for the posts of Postal Assistants in Post Offices, Sorting Assistants in Railway Mail Service and Postal / Sorting Assistants in Army Postal Service should have the above educational qualifications with English as a compulsory subject.
iii) The candidates should have knowledge of local languages of the State. i.e., should have studied Telugu (and / or any other local language declared as local language by Andhra Pradesh State Government) as a subject at least upto Matriculation level (SSC)
iv) Candidates with higher qualifications are also considered. But they have to fulfil the requirements mentioned in sub paras (i) to (iii) above. v) Candidates who have passed Vocational or job Oriented Course (JOC) are NOT eligible.
vii) For Postal Assistants of Circle Office and Regional Offices Typing skill in Hindi at the speed of 25 words per minute or in English at the speed of 30 words per minute and Computer Knowledge are essential.
